Henry Richards, born in California, is a landscape artist who paints California scenes and his primary tool is the painting knife. He studied art for four years at the School of Allied Arts in Glendale, CA, under the direction of Stan Parkhouse, a magazine illustrator for Colliers, Saturday Evening Post, and other magazines of the time.

Richards studied both oil and watercolor techniques with the School's teachers: Arthur Beaumont, Ralph Hulett and Charles Payzant. On graduation, Richards started his own commercial art design studio, and on retirement began fine art painting full time.
