Irion Shields was born in Texas & moved to San Diego in 1932. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Sacramento & worked as a sign painter for McClellan Air Force Base. In his leisure, Irion worked in oil, watercolor, and pen & ink to produce seascapes and landscapes.
