Joseph De Mers (1910-1984)...Born: San Diego, CA
Studied: Chouinard Art Institute (Los Angeles)
Member: California Water Color Society.
After studying with Pruett Carter and Lawrence Murphy, artist Joseph De Mers went on to become an internationally recognized magazine illustrator. He lived in Southern California, taught art at Chouinard, and exhibited watercolors locally until the late 1930s. Later, he moved to the East Coast where he exhibited in major museum shows during the 1950s and 1960s.
