LLOYD JENNING MITCHELL (1909-1978)

Painter, Illustrator. Born in the Ozarks, Mitchell left home in his teens and traveled throughout the West. In the early 1930s he arrived in Los Angeles and worked briefly as an extra on western movies. He studied at Chouinard Art School while employed at Western Lithography. After serving in the Navy during WWII, he returned to southern California and settled in Temple City. Mitchell painted illustration art and western genre.
