GEOFFREY HOLT (1882-1977). Landscape Painter.

Geoffrey Holt was born in England on August 18, 1882. He studied art in London and Paris. He lived in Minneapolis during the teens as a designer for the John S. Bradstreet Company (furniture and interiors). By 1920 Holt had moved to San Francisco where he maintained a studio and was active for several years. He lived in Los Angeles from about 1930 until settling in Long Beach in 1947. He died there on December 21, 1977. Working in oil and watercolor, Geoffrey Holt painted realistic landscapes in the manner of the English School.
