LEON LUNDMARK, (1875-1942)

Leon Lundmark was a marine painter, born in Stockholm, Sweden as the illegitimate son of Countess Hanna von Til and S.A. Johnson. He was educated in Stockholm including attendance at the Technical School and Fine Art Academy. In the 1920s, he was in Chicago and served as Director of the Scandinavian-American Art Association. In 1924, his biography titled "The Rise of Lundmark" was published. The latter part of his life, he lived in Altadena, California.
